Rock & Royalty Gala Invitation

The annual fundraiser for this non-profit performing arts center supports crucial arts education and enrichment programs in the local community, and this year’s gala event honors the spirit of rock royalty. The invitation is one component of a larger event brand that takes its inspiration from the incredible contemporary music and themes in the shows coming to the center. The evening event is sophisticated, but fun! 

Traditional print techniques are leveraged in a thoroughly modern manner. The accordian-folded card mails flat, but — with a clever use of scores, folds, perforations and die-cuts — can be built into a mini-castle to keep around as a reminder of the event. Furthermore, no part of the piece is a throw-away: the reply portion gets mailed back, the castle gets built and a smaller card remains to pin to a calendar. 

The language and art of this gala invite playfully lean into the high energy of rock and the sophistication of “royalty”... musical royalty, that is.
